Description
QBE is seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to fill the role of Agile Release Train Manager. This unique position combines the leadership responsibilities of a Chief Scrum Master with the strategic oversight of a Release Train Manager. As a key member of our Agile organization, you will be instrumental in driving the success of our Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and ensuring the smooth delivery of value to our customers.
This position will be performed primarily onsite at Fort Belvoir and/or the Pentagon.
This position may require travel to various COCOMs, up to 30%.
Key Responsibilities:
- Agile Leadership : Provide strong leadership and guidance to multiple Agile Release Trains (ARTs) composed of cross-functional teams. Champion Agile principles and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Release Management : Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Product Managers, and other stakeholders to plan and execute the release strategy for each ART. Ensure alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
- Scrum Mastering : Serve as the Chief Scrum Master for the ARTs, coaching Scrum Masters and geographically dispersed teams on Agile practices, facilitating ceremonies, and removing impediments to progress.
- Cross-Team Coordination : Facilitate communication and collaboration between ARTs and other dependent teams or stakeholders. Proactively address dependencies and promote a culture of transparency.
- Risk Management : Identify risks and issues that may impact the successful delivery of releases and work with teams to mitigate them effectively. Ensure timely escalation and resolution of critical issues.
- Performance Monitoring : Establish metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the health and performance of ARTs. Use data-driven insights to drive improvements and optimize delivery processes.
- Stakeholder Engagement : Engage with business stakeholders and leadership to provide visibility into the progress and impact of ARTs. Communicate effectively to manage expectations and address concerns.
- Continuous Improvement : Lead retrospective sessions and other forums to gather feedback and drive continuous improvement within the ARTs and across the Agile organization.

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Strong understanding of Agile principles and frameworks (e.g., Scrum, SAFe).
- 6 years of experience as Scrum Alliance Scrum Master and/or SAFe Scrum Master (SSM)
- Proven record of accomplishment leading high-performing Agile teams and delivering successful releases.
- Experience managing three or more agile teams concurrently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for projects of a comparable size.
- Experience presenting, facilitating, and communicating (both written and verbal), targeted to audiences of varying backgrounds and experience levels.
- Creative problem-solving skills and a passion for driving continuous improvement and innovation in training initiatives.
- Active US Government Clearance at Secret level or higher
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to regularly lift at least 25 pounds.
- Ability to commute to the designated onsite work location as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Agile Release Train management or similar role.
