Summary:

The Automotive Dealership Sales Associate helps reinforce the Hanania brand and culture, exuding a positive attitude and high energy. This role understands and demonstrates characteristics, capabilities, and features; developing and qualifying buyers; closing sales.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Understands automobiles by studying characteristics, capabilities, and features; comparing and contrasting competitive models; inspecting automobiles.
  • Develops buyers by maintaining rapport with previous customers; suggesting trade-ins; meeting prospects at community activities; greeting drop-ins; responding to inquiries; recommending sales campaigns and promotions.
  • Qualifies buyers by understanding buyer's requirements and interests; matching requirements and interests to various models; building rapport.
  • Demonstrates automobiles by explaining characteristics, capabilities, and features; taking drives; explaining warranties and services.
  • Closes sales by overcoming objections; asking for sales; negotiating price; completing sales or purchase contracts; explaining provisions; explaining and offering warranties, services, and financing; collects payment; delivers automobile.
  • Provides sales management information by completing reports.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
  • Enhances dealership reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Forecast goals at the beginning of each month.
  • Understand the dealerships inventory on a daily basis.
  • Prospect on a day-to-day basis by phone, mail, and person to person - maintain a prospect development system.
  • Maintain an owner follow-up system that encourages repeat and referral business and contributes to customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for meeting vehicle sales goals.
  • Deliver vehicles to customers.
  • Ensure the customer understand the vehicle's operating features, warranty, and paperwork.
  • Demonstrate an understanding that business is built on excellent customer satisfaction and being devoted to guaranteeing customer satisfaction.
  • Introduce customers to the Service Department, emphasizing the quality and efficiency of the dealership's service operations.
  • Understand the terminology of the automobile business and keep abreast of technological changes in the product.
  • Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the Company's Vision, Mission, and Values in all interactions with customers, co-workers, and suppliers.
Education and Experience:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibility

Work Environment

This job operates mainly in a clerical office setting. With some exposure outside as walking the lots may be required. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

This position requires a lot of movement, with minimal time in a sedentary position. Will need the ability to walk throughout the lot and be able to get in and out of vehicles to show during a sale. Minimal lifting may be necessary.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is an Exempt, full-time commission based position. Days and hours of work are Sunday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 8 p.m. Evening and weekends are required as job duties demand.
