This is a departmental labor pool used for the hiring of Certified Aircraft Maintenance Technician Level I(s) for UAA's Aviation Technology Division, Flight Operations Department.
The Certified Aircraft Maintenance Technician (CAMT) – Level 1 is responsible for performing the duties of an FAA-certificated Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic. Tests, trouble shoots, removes, installs, aligns, and adjusts the oil, fuel, hydraulic, pneumatic, power plant, and electrical systems of aircraft. Inspects, installs, replaces, and repairs airframes, engines, propellers, appliances and other components as necessary. Troubleshoots, checks, and repairs aircraft system(s) through connecting, adjusting, and operating test equipment. Conducts ground functional tests of aircraft, aircraft systems, aircraft engines, avionics, and installed accessories. Traces and corrects electrical problems in various aircraft systems. Performs all phases of aircraft structural repair and alteration; including sheet metal structure, wood structure, steel tubing structure, and composite structure.
To thrive in this role, incumbent must be able to communicate effectively and possess a high level of work, systems and aviation infrastructure related knowledge and technical skill. Must be familiar with Aircraft maintenance publications; Code of Federal Regulation Title 14 (FAR's), aircraft manufacturer maintenance documents, airworthiness directives, advisory circulars, orders, bulletins, forms, and aircraft records.

This position is located on the Aviation Technology Complex at Merrill Field Airport in Anchorage, AK. This is a part-time, temporary position. New hires will be placed on the UA Temporary Staff Salary Schedule , Grade 78, $37.16/hour.
