Description

The Brewer will be responsible for the entirety of brewhouse operations. This person will have oversight of cellaring, quality operations, packaging, staging, and various brewing and cleaning duties. They will focus on flawless execution and continuous improvement of processes. In the event of process irregularities, demonstrate an ability to take decisive action that leads to resolution, while abiding by sound brewing principles. Comply with all brewing and quality assurance operations, policies, and procedures. Work effectively with all members of the Brewery Legitimus teams.

Responsibilities

•Development of recipes
•Milling grain
•Brewing on 7bbl brewhouse
•Dry hopping
•Monitoring fermentation
•Racking beer between fermenters and brite tank
•Cleaning and filling kegs
•Yeast management, storage and propagation
•Cleaning and sanitizing brewhouse equipment
•Quality control
•Canning line operations
•Taking inventory of finished product and raw materials
•Prepare orders for raw materials
•Accurately updating brewery operations management system
•Follow production standard operating procedures and continuously improving as necessary
•Troubleshoot mechanical equipment
•Reporting all safety, maintenance or quality issues to operations management
•Ability to produce established flagship beers within spec to maintain brand consistency
•Planning and maintaining the production calendar
•Maintaining and operating barrel-aged program
•Communicating tasting notes to bar staff

Qualifications

•1 or more years of experience in a production brewery
•College education or equivalent trade school in relevant field of concentration
•Passion for craft beer and brewing
•Demonstrated proficiency in complicated brewing processes
•Mechanical proficiency including canning line experience
•Organized and extremely detail-oriented
•Ability to lift and carry 55lbs, move 165lb kegs, climb ladders, work on your feet for long periods
