Overview

As the restaurant manager of HoneyBee Bruncherie, you are responsible for leading all day-to-day operations, fostering a positive team culture, and ensuring outstanding service and food quality. Your leadership directly impacts our operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, employee morale, and, ultimately, our ability to maintain the stellar reputation of the Bruncherie.

Fundamental responsibilities

  • Overseeing all front- and back-of-house operations

  • Supporting a clean, safe and inclusive work environment

Key objectives

Guest Experience

  • Ensure every guest receives warm, attentive and responsive service by developing and enforcing front-of-house service standards and training.
  • Engage with guests directly, through table visits, conversations, and attention to detail to create memorable dining experiences.
  • Manage and respond to catering requests, reservations, and digital inquiries, coordinating with relevant team members. 
  • Monitor guest feedback (in-person and online) and suggest service or facility improvements to address concerns.

Operations Management

  • Maintain inventory of all consumables, retail items, and job supplies with a focus on efficiency and cost management. 
  • Ensure consistent food and beverage preparation and presentation that meets documented standards.
  • Analyze metrics like table turn times, check size, top-selling items, labor cost percentage, etc., to drive operational improvements.
  • Manage POS systems, including timely updates to pricing, menus, and descriptions. 
  • Oversee equipment cleanliness and functionality through routine inspections and scheduled maintenance.
  • Implement and maintain checklists for daily tasks, maintenance, and inspections.
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, labor, and licensing regulations.

Staff Leadership & Development

  • Staff and schedule all positions in alignment with business demand.
  • Oversee team performance, time management, and adherence to policies.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluations, and when necessary, terminations.
  • Conduct weekly all-staff meetings to share business updates, upcoming events, guest feedback and invite open discussion.
  • Be a mentor, trainer and able-employee across all hourly positions.

Financial Management

  • Handle daily cash operations, including reconciliation and deposits.
  • Process payroll biweekly, including timecard approvals and tip allocations.
  • Monitor financial performance and develop strategies for increased efficiency and sustainability.

Marketing & Promotion

  • Maintain accurate business information across online platforms (Google, Yelp, Facebook, Instagram).
  • Execute social media and marketing campaigns in line with brand standards.
  • Build local partnerships–e.g. with other restaurants, farmers markets, the brewery and other food manufacturers, schools and civic organizations–for events, sourcing, and co-promotion.

Advisory Board Participation

As a key member of the Rooms at The Bailey LLC Advisory Board , you will:

  • Help steward The Bailey’s brand across all its businesses, including the restaurant, bar, café, and guest accommodations.
  • Identify new revenue opportunities, such as partnerships, events, and services.
  • Collaborate on updates to SOPs, the employee handbook, and branding materials.
  • Contribute to menu development and long-term marketing strategies.
  • Perform any necessary duties to ensure responsible, compliant, and effective management of the business.

Compensation & benefits

  • Salary: $60,000–$65,000 annually, depending on experience, performance, and tenure. Paid biweekly.
  • Vacation: 40 hours/year paid vacation.
  • Sick Leave: 40 hours of paid sick leave per year, paid at a regular rate.
  • Holidays: Paid time off on the 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
  • Meals: Complimentary meals during business hours.
