Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

Framing and Structural Carpentry

  • Construct walls roofs and floors by framing with lumber plywood or other materials.
  • Measure and cut materials to ensure proper fitting and alignment.
  • Ensure the structural integrity of frameworks for both residential and commercial projects.

General Carpentry Tasks

  • Install doors windows staircases and other wooden fixtures.
  • Construct and install custom cabinetry and shelving as needed.
  • Work with a variety of materials including wood metal and composite materials.

Trim and Finish Carpentry

  • Install trim baseboards crown molding and other finish carpentry.
  • Ensure smooth and precise fitting of trim and molding for an aesthetically pleasing finish.

Sanding and Surface Preparation

  • Sand and prepare wood surfaces for painting or staining.
  • Ensure surfaces are free of defects before final coating or finishing.

Tool and Equipment Proficiency

  • Proficient in the use of hand tools power tools and machinery specific to carpentry work.
  • Regular maintenance of tools and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Building Codes and Safety Compliance

  • Ensure all work meets local building codes and safety standards.
  • Follow safety protocols including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to sitespecific safety rules.

Attention to Detail

  • Ensure all cuts are precise and installations are aligned and secure.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment including daily cleanup and tool organization.

Customer Interaction

  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members to ensure project satisfaction.
  • Maintain professionalism when working in client homes or businesses.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in carpentry including framing finish work and general carpentry tasks.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project plans.
  • Strong understanding of materials and construction techniques.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid drivers license.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fastpaced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills for working with clients and other trades.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with custom carpentry or specialty woodwork.
  • Certification or apprenticeship in carpentry (not required but a plus).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a willingness to mentor junior team members.
