Job Summary:
The Tennessee Education Association (TEA) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Community Organizer . The ideal candidate will be passionate about grassroots organizing, with a deep commitment to empowering communities to advocate for public education.
The Community Organizer will be responsible for identifying and developing relationships with parents, students, educators, and community organizations. They will create and implement grassroots organizing strategies to drive meaningful action and influence policy changes. This role involves recruiting and training community leaders and educators, developing issue campaigns, and fostering collaboration with local organizations and allies. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, a skilled strategist, and a collaborative team player who is committed to advancing educational and social justice in Tennessee.
In this role, the Community Organizer will be required to travel across the state, work evenings and weekends, and support local affiliates. This position requires a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
