Solar Electrician-CA

Location: San Diego, CA or nearby

Job Summary: Greenskies is seeking an electrician to bolster its solar photovoltaic and energy storage team. This Electrician will conduct site visits to ensure contractors are building to the correct plans and specifications, to enforce code requirements, to uphold Greenskies’ construction standards, and to report construction progress to the EPC team. The Electrician will also provide corrective and preventative maintenance once the regional renewable energy assets are operational. The Electrician reports to the Director of O&M.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Travel daily to regional projects that are under construction or operational.
• Lead and educate subcontractors from site mobilization to O&M handoff.
• Track project progress. Report feedback to the EPC team regarding installation quality.
• Examine the work of the subcontractors to ensure they meet Greenskies’ standards.
• Orchestrate site mobilization, shutdown/interconnection, witness tests, inspections.
• Assist with project commissioning and SCADA programming.
• Conduct preventative maintenance via inspection of wiring, connections, mechanical repairs, torque verification, thermal scans, string tests, inverters, etc.
• Test circuit polarity, open circuit voltage, ground continuity, insulation resistance, etc.
• Responding to scheduled and urgent maintenance cases
• Complete reports following every site visit.
• Represent Greenskies on site in a professional manner.
• Some weekend work required for urgent corrective maintenance.

Qualifications:

• Certified Electrician – State of California
• Experience working with and troubleshooting 480Vac circuits and equipment, as well as electro-mechanical equipment.
• In-depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
• Valid driver’s license
• Physical ability to visit job sites, traverse uneven ground or climb a ladder, able to lift up to 50 lbs. of equipment.
