• Provide medical care to inpatients during nighttime hours, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Manage and coordinate the care of hospitalized patients, ensuring continuity from day to night shifts.
• Respond to emergencies, rapid responses, and code situations, providing immediate and appropriate medical intervention.
• Perform necessary procedures, such as intubation, central line placement, and management of acute conditions.
• Communicate effectively with day-shift hospitalists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth transitions and comprehensive patient care.
• Review and update patient charts, orders, and notes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with hospital policies.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and collaborate with specialists to optimize patient outcomes.
• Adhere to hospital protocols, guidelines, and best practices to maintain high standards of care.
• Provide guidance and support to residents, medical students, and other healthcare team members as needed.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices in nocturnal hospital care.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
• Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Valid medical license to practice in the state of Mississippi
• Strong clinical skills, with the ability to make independent decisions in a high-pressure environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
