Job Description: Logistics Area Manager Purpose of Role This pivotal role for the Logistics Operations team is responsible for leading key network projects to drive improvements in the area of safety, service, productivity and cost management within the Mars Petcare US Supply Chain. Utilizing a collaborative approach this dynamic role will create and modify performance dashboards, analyze data to track key KPI's and lead projects to drive continuous improvement of warehouse operations and distribution. This leader is responsible for leading key network strategy on key enablers such as Material Handling, Financial LE capabilities, and network capacity modeling. This role is a key liaison between the field RLM's, Site Logistics Leaders and co-pilot partners (Planning, QF&S, DQM).
Principle Accountabilities: - Analyze, recommend and Implement solutions to optimize productivity and lower costs across multiple points of distribution.
- Manage Period Review Finance process and calls with 3PL's GM's and reconcile business outputs into upstream feeders meetings.
- Develop and manage documented performance scorecards across multiple 3PL's
- Proactively identify for standard routines that impact warehouse operation. Track, manage and create improvement strategies to improve performance.
- Implement analyze effectiveness, and provide improvements for MHE safety programs
- Lead Network strategy for Material Handling management (570 MHE @ $7.2M annual spend) through collaboration with 3rd party forklift vendors, MGS commercial, RLM's and Site leadership. Forklift Safety Programs .
- Lead the development, implementation and tracking of site capacity modelling that forecasts volume to better support the supply chain through warehouse labor planning and transportation capacity.
- Support warehouse operations in the areas of, PPLH, CSL, inventory management, warehouse utilization and others. Key process owner in the LMOS (Logistics Mars Operating System)
- Strong analytical and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple high priority demands simultaneously; ability to achieve success in situations with high degrees of variation and complexity.
- Asist in planning and managing activities for team projects, continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develops and maintains documentation on processes, procedures, reporting and records.
- Engage with managers and look for continuous improvement opportunities.
- Be an advocate for best practice, training, simplification and streamlined processes that will result in increased efficiencies.
- Drive continuous improvement across the site.
- Ensure vendors know and follow all policies and procedures.
- Cross function working with all aspects of the business.

Key Functional Skills/Knowledge - Ability to work cross-functionally in the business to bring information and knowledge to the team regarding planning, operations and execution.

Minimum Qualifications - BS / BA Business or related field or equivalent experience
- 5-7 years professional experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Planning or similar discipline or equivalent experience
- Cross functional experience in Supply chain leadership- i.e. Transportation, Planning, Procurement, manufacturing.
- Leading quantitative analysis and providing recommendations for improvement
Preferred Qualifications - 10-15 years of experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Planning or similar discipline.
- Experience leading change and implementing Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma initiatives.
- MBA or advanced degree
