About the role

We are seeking a Tax Preparer to join our finance team at CKH Group. As a Tax Preparer & Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing tax preparation and bookkeeping tasks to ensure accurate financial records and compliance with tax regulations. This role will require attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.

What you will do

• Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Perform bookkeeping tasks, including recording financial transactions, maintaining general ledger accounts, and preparing financial statements.
• Assist with payroll processing and ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations.
• Conduct tax research and stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations.
• Communicate with clients and provide tax planning and bookkeeping advice.
• Review and analyze financial documents and data to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
• Assist with audits and respond to tax authority inquiries or requests for information.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Stay current on industry trends and best practices in tax preparation and bookkeeping.

Requirements
What you need

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in tax preparation and bookkeeping.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and tax preparation software (e.g., TurboTax).
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• CPA certification is a plus.
