Job Description:
You will play a pivotal role in providing exceptional learning opportunities for students with diverse needs. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Collaborating with students, parents, and fellow staff members to develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) through the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process.
Implementing instructional, therapeutic, or skill development programs tailored to the individual needs of assigned students.
Modifying curriculum and preparing lessons and instructional materials according to students' ability levels.
Participating in ARD Committee meetings to discuss student progress, goals, and accommodations.
Conducting formal and informal assessments to identify student learning styles and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
Utilizing assistive technologies and resources to enhance the teaching and learning process.
Providing personalized care and support, including medical assistance and feeding, as specified in the IEP.
Maintaining a positive classroom environment conducive to learning and students' social and emotional development.
Managing student behavior in alignment with IEP goals and training requirements, including crisis intervention and physical restraint when necessary.
Establishing open lines of communication with students, parents, and community members to ensure collaborative support and involvement in students' education.
Adhering to all federal, state, district, and school regulations and policies for special education teachers.
Engaging in continuous professional development and demonstrating a commitment to personal and professional growth.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
Valid teaching certificate with required special education endorsements.
ESL Certification required within six months of employment.
Knowledge of special needs education, ARD Committee process, and IEP goal setting and implementation.
Strong consultation and collaboration skills.
Minimum of one year of student teaching or approved internship experience.

Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
Regular heavy lifting of students.

Exposure to students who may display violent behavior.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
