Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Test Automation Engineer (SDET) to develop and extend robust testing automation frameworks. This role requires expertise in test strategy, automation development, and team collaboration. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with CI/CD pipelines , RESTful API testing , and advanced testing tools like Postman , Appium , and AWS Cloud Formation .

Key Responsibilities

• Automation Framework Development :

  • Extend and maintain test automation frameworks using Java and JavaScript .
  • Create automated functional and performance scripts leveraging tools like Karate , JMeter , and Appium .
  • Develop frameworks for API testing, scripting, execution, and results analysis.

• Testing Strategy & Execution :

  • Design and execute test plans for Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) environments.
  • Perform end-to-end system integration testing, including full-stack and third-party integration testing.
  • Conduct exploratory and manual testing to ensure product quality.

• Leadership & Mentorship :

  • Mentor onshore and offshore test engineers on automation practices and tools.
  • Provide technical leadership in test methodologies, ensuring adherence to best practices.

• Collaboration & Coordination :

  • Partner with product owners to understand requirements and resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate testing into the software lifecycle.

Technical Skills

Required :

• 8+ years in test automation framework design.
• Strong experience in:
  • Java (3-5 years).
  • Cucumber , JBehave , or other BDD frameworks.
  • Testing RESTful APIs.
  • SQL and relational database querying.
  • Performance testing using JMeter (3+ years).
• Proficiency in tools like Postman , Appium , and AWS Cloud Formation .
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture.

Preferred :

• Hands-on experience with Python .
• Development experience in AWS Cloud technologies.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools and concepts (e.g., CI/CD, Jenkins, Git).
• Experience with API gateways like Apigee .
• Agile/Lean practices with at least 2 years on Agile teams.

Soft Skills

• Strong adaptability in complex environments.
• Proactive, creative, and detail-oriented.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective team collaboration with developers and business users.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of relevant professional experience.

This role requires on-site presence in Chicago, IL. Talent must reside locally at the time of submission.
